My interest in ecotoxicology and aquatic biology during my bachelor’s degree pushed me to pursue a master’s project. My research focuses on bioaccessibility of contaminants and nutrients in freshwater organisms that are traditionally an important food income for many indigenous communities in northern Canada. In order to evaluate if potential harmful chemicals found in these organisms are absorbed during human digestion, I will work on developing an in vitro protocol specific for contaminants studies. Apart from school, my hobbies include hiking, camping, rock climbing, painting and dancing.
